Weber State Weekly
Meet the Team: 10 Questions w/ John King
Updated: Feb 16, 2021
This article is part of a five-part series asking 10 questions to each person who makes
Weber State Weekly a reality.
Our goal: help our fellow Wildcats get to know the people
behind the show.
In this installment of the “Meet the Team” series, our man John King takes center stage.
John made his way across the country to be a 2018 MBA graduate at Weber State.
He is quite possibly the biggest Weber State fan who resides east of the Mississippi and sacrifices his
time and sleep in order to work on Weber State Weekly.
1. What are some hobbies you have, outside of sports?
Music is my second favorite thing after sports. If anyone has anything they're listening to, feel free to send
it my way. I love playing pub trivia and watching Jeopardy. I'm also the voice of reason in my girlfriend’s
quest to adopt every animal in our local shelter. We do, however, have the best pup in the world named
Ludo.
2. Tell us something that few people know about you.
I once played Romeo in my high school's production of Romeo and Juliet.
3. Why did you want to get involved with Weber State Weekly?
Weber State Athletics became one of the things I am most passionate about even though I only lived in
Ogden for two short years. Even when I moved back across the country to the east coast I still found time
to watch as many Wildcat games as I can. When you're that passionate about something, it's easy to
want to share that experience with as many people as possible. I thought joining the podcast would be
the best way to do that since I live so far away.
4. How did you become a Weber State fan?
I went to Weber State for my Master's and was hooked the first game I ever saw at Stewart Stadium; a
14-7 win over Sacramento State.
5. Who is your all-time favorite Wildcat?
Jeremy Senglin.
6. Which is your favorite piece of Weber State apparel that you own?
Shout out to Brad Ferreira for giving me one of the few Weber State Tennis T-Shirts that I've seen in
circulation; A true collector's item.
7. Which is the best Weber State game that you’ve ever attended?
Weber State 30 Southern Utah 13 in my one and only trip to Cedar City to advance to the quarterfinals of
the 2017 FCS playoffs.
8. What is your greatest athletic achievement?
Securing the 2017 Indoor Kickball intramural championship for the Weber State Athletic Department with
a walk-off single in the championship game.
9. Who are your favorite sports teams, other than Weber State?
All of the teams from Washington DC (Football Team, Wizards, Capitals, and Nationals), Arsenal FC, and
my alma mater Syracuse University.
10. What can the audience expect you to bring to Weber State Weekly?
Takes so hot that even Skip Bayless will need air conditioning.
